Fintro is a free financial literacy platform for Canadian students. Features include a budget tracker, market dashboard, and learning resources. The platform is provided as-is and is not a licensed financial advisor.
When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you use the budget tracker, transaction data is stored locally in your browser by default. If you choose to sync to your account, that data is stored on our servers.
If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google as part of the authentication process.
Your email is used to send you account communications and, if opted in, weekly financial tips. We may analyse and use de-identified, aggregated usage and spending data for platform improvement, research, and business purposes, including sharing such aggregated insights with partners and third parties. Any such data is processed at a population level and cannot be used to identify you individually.
We do not sell your personally identifiable information. We may share de-identified, aggregated data (which cannot identify you) with third parties for research, analytics, and commercial purposes. We may also share data with service providers who support our operations (e.g. hosting, analytics) under appropriate data agreements.
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us at privacy@fintroapp.com. Under PIPEDA (Canada's federal privacy law), you have the right to access and correct your personal information.
Passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We follow industry-standard security practices. Authentication is handled by Supabase, which is SOC 2 compliant.
Nothing on Fintro constitutes financial, legal, or tax advice. Market data is indicative only. Always consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.
